Nanna's Ceramics – handmade mugs, cups, bowls, figurines and Læsø salt cellars

Nanna's Ceramics is located on Flarumvej in Vesterø, where Nanna Højland Jensen creates beautiful cups, mugs, bowls, figurines, Læsø salt cellars and much more – all unique, handmade, beautifully glazed in lovely earth tones and fired in Nanna's workshop.

The ceramics are sold locally from the shop at Flarumvej 16, and Nanna is happy to take orders – just as she already does for Læsø Salt, among others, with her beautiful salt cellars.

Read more below – and check out the pictures!

Handmade unique ceramics on Læsø

Nanna Højland Jensen makes beautiful cups, mugs, bowls, plates and, of course, Læsø salt pots. Everything is handmade in Nanna's workshop at Flarumvej 16, close to both the sea and the arrival point of the Læsø ferry on Læsø.

The sea as inspiration

When you are on Læsø, the sea is a huge part of everyday life – from trips to the beach to the importance of local fishing and the island's lifeline, the Læsø ferry. The sea also provides plenty of inspiration in both shapes and colours, and so you will find a beautiful blue marine glaze as a recurring element in many of Nanna's works.

Mugs, cups, jugs and bowls

A large part of the production is already a local success – namely the beautiful cups and mugs in various colours and sizes. They are available with or without LÆSØ on them, and can also be made to order.

Læsø salt bowl

If you have visited Læsø Saltworks, you have surely seen Nanna's beautiful salt cellars – handmade, of course, and fired in the oven in Nanna's workshop. Nanna makes salt cellars to order for Læsø Salt – and similar models can also be purchased directly from the shop and workshop.

Birdhouse

A cute little birdhouse – virtually indestructible, easy to clean and squirrel-proof.

Funny and cute characters

In addition to practical ceramics such as mugs, pots, dishes and bowls, she also creates more decorative and creative works featuring various small figures – birds, fish, etc. – often made to order, but sometimes just a series of fun items when inspiration strikes Nanna.

Find your way

Nanna's ceramics has both a shop and workshop at Flarumvej 16 in Vesterø, close to the sea, forest, beach, harbour and ferry.

About Nanna

Nanna's full name is Højland Jensen. She was born and raised on the island of Læsø, trained as a teacher and lives in Vesterø with her family. Both her ceramics workshop and shop are located at her home at Flarumvej 16.
Nanna's love of ceramics stems from her love of being creative and making things with her hands – in addition to the fascination and joy of the creative process, it also gives her peace and immersion.
Nanna works with stoneware clay and pottery wheel throwing, as well as modelling and slab techniques.
Decoratively, it is about different glazes, which are mixed in several shades, and therefore the glazes will be different - or unique, to put it more nicely :-)

It was Nanna's grandmother who introduced her to the world of ceramics. A weekend was spent working with clay, and Nanna was hooked. A ceramics course gave her a little more technical knowledge, and shortly afterwards she invested in a professional kiln and potter's wheel so she could practise and create even more ceramics.

Nanna creates unique ceramics and finds inspiration everywhere. She is happy to take orders, working with the buyer to find the right solution.
