Welcome to Læsø's fantastic hiking route all the way around the island, from Vesterø to Østerby and back. Experience walking through wide salt meadows, raised bogs of mosaic-like nature, heathers, dune plantations, beaches and unique cultural sights, which make up Læsø's cultural heritage; the saltworks and the seaweed roofs.
Stop by the tourist office and get Læsø's Ø-CAMINO map, and get an introduction to the route. Remember to check the opening hours of stores, restaurants and attractions on the island for your trip.
On the map, Ø-CAMINO Læsø, you can find 24 pointers on the route, a selection of what you can experience on the way. But, there are naturally many more things to do discover, big and small; for instance, you might see wildlife such as the white-tailed eagle or yellow meadow ants... Læsø's ISLAND-CAMINO is made in collaboration with four other Danish islands, in the Øhigh5 project: Samsø, Ærø, Langeland and Fanø, and each islands has made their own special Island-Camino, which takes you around and through each island's unique nature and culture. Each Island-Camino belongs on a hiking enthusiast's bucket-list :-)
