Læsø is also "rich in winter experiences", and during the school holidays in winter, a number of activities and events take place on Læsø. But, winter also offers extraordinary quiet and relaxation on the island.
Tall skies and a broad horizon
Winter holidays on Læsø are something truly special. Tall skies, wide horizons, "hygge" together with the family, in front of the fireplace, red noses after a cold trip to the beach, hot chocolate, and time which seems to have slowed down.
During winter, one could argue that not much is going on on the island, but if you search for it... On our page with opening hours, you can see which stores, attractions and restaurants are open and when. And there is still lots of things to do, even if not all stores are open.

The one big advantage of long nights, is the opportunity to stargaze on a cloudless night. And Læsø offers the perfect setting. Big parts of Læsø are without any light-pollution; try a stargazing trip to Holtemmen, to Rønnerne or to Danzigmand.

En route to World Heritage
Læsø is on UNESCO's tentative list with the island's salt making and seaweed roofs. Spend a couple of days during the winter holidays to gain an understanding of these two big components of Læsø's cultural history - there is plenty to discover for both children and adults.
